AAFM ® MOU with ESCA

The UAE Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (ESCA), and the AAFM American Academy of Financial Management ® Sign Agreement to Advance Professional Certification and Educational Standards in the UAE United Arab Emirates

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 31, 2013

The Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (ESCA) and the AAFM American Academy of Financial Management ® are pleased to announce their new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand and advance professional development and certifications standards in the capital markets and investment industry.

The MoU was signed in Dubai by H.E. Abdullah Al-Turifi, the CEO of the Securities & Commodities Authority (SCA), and Counselor George Mentz, JD, MBA, CWM who is the CEO of AAFM Board and Institute. The Alliance illuminates the commitment to augment the development of a framework for professional standards for financial, risk and management related professionals.

The new alliance calls for a joint committee of executives from AAFM and from the SCA. The Leadership Committee created by the agreement will work to expand upon the excellent training, development, and certification programs already offered by the ESCA with an emphasis on global standards, ethics, governance, and accredited standards.

Commenting on behalf of AAFM, International Lawyer George Mentz, said, "This agreement will allow for a global collaboration between the UAE, USA, EU, Asia and Africa. Our members in Asia and Europe look forward to bringing their best insights, accreditation policies, and licensing standards to the discussion.
